Why Jaime Parnell

Jaime Parnell has a strong interest in working with children especially those who are neurodivergent. Having previously worked with children who have experienced trauma and with an extensive history in working with children and teenagers, Jaime Parnell provides assessment, individual counselling, group sessions and training tailored to service needs. Jaime has an interest in working with neurodivergent children and adults.

Located in Rockhampton and practicing in the Capricornia region, as well as offering an outreach services to Biloela, and Woorabinda, Jaime and the team are particularly involved in working with clients who have complex presentations, including sensory, emotional, social, cognitive, attention difficulties, and academic difficulties. Jaime Parnell is a registered Clinical Psychologist and has maintained an ongoing interest and study in the area of Autism and ADHD. Jaime’s skills lie in providing a thorough assessment and tailoring interventions to individual needs, including diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in females and adults.

  • Therapy services include Clinical Psychologists, Registered Psychologists and Social Workers. Sessions are focused on children and teens and can be delivered by both psychologists and social workers.

    Furthermore, a parent-focused Social Worker is able to provide sessions.

  • Jaime Parnell Psychology offers a wide range of assessments that are individualised to the presentation of the person.

    Assessments give clarification of strengths and difficulties for a person. A thorough assessment gives clear direction about diagnosis and future interventions.

    Jaime Parnell Psychology utilises a large number of assessments, to create an individualised testing battery for both verbal, non-verbal, toddlers, children, teenagers and adults

  • Therapy Aide's run a 12-session program focus on developing a child's understanding of emotions. The program is based on Zones of Regulation.

  • Jaime Parnell Psychology runs a Get Set for High School program each year to support children as they transition to High School. It runs from November to January.

    This program can be run in conjunction with an individual Therapy Aide Program if elevated levels of anxiety are identified.

  • Jaime Parnell Psychology provides an outreach service to the Woorabinda community in conjunction with the Pediatric Clinic.

    Jaime Parnell Psychology provides an outreach service to Biloela community.

    Telehealth is able to be provided for Therapy Aide Programs and Individual Therapy.
